SMS texting service roll out. The surgery is pleased to announce an enhancement to its existing text service. As some of you may be aware the surgery has been texting a reminder to patients regarding GP appointments for over a year. This service was well received, however the messages were basic. The surgery now has access to an enhanced system which will text patients a confirmation of an appointment when it has been made, then the day before the appointment the system will send a reminder including the time and date of the appointment. You will now be reminded about appointments not only for the GPs but also Nurses and for blood tests. The system will be further enhanced when regular blood test results will be texted to you. The feedback from the new service has been very positive.

If you do not wish your mobile phone number to be used for this purpose please contact the surgery and we can update our records.

“Avoid the Queue” is our online booking service.  When we implemented the new system one of the reasons was to give patients another choice of how to book their appointments.  This went live on 12th April 2010.  If you sign up to the new service you will be able to book any appointment which is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week at your convenience. If you also use our online prescription ordering service, this is also being enhanced and you will need to register for this.

IMPORTANT NOTE :  When using this service, please do not bookmark or copy the ordering/booking page to favourites when  ordering  your prescription or booking an appointment.  Your future orders/bookings will not be received at the Surgery if you do so.

You can save the website home page as a Favourite, but you MUST click into the ordering/booking page link on the home page and enter your USER NAME AND PASSWORD every time you use the service.  This is because the link goes directly to your Systm1 patient record.

To find out more and to sign up go to the appointments page .
