SMS texting service roll out. The surgery is pleased to announce an enhancement to its existing text service. As some of you may be aware the surgery has been texting a reminder to patients regarding GP appointments for over a year. This service was well received, however the messages were basic. The surgery now has access to an enhanced system which will text patients a confirmation of an appointment when it has been made, then the day before the appointment the system will send a reminder including the time and date of the appointment. You will now be reminded about appointments not only for the GPs but also Nurses and for blood tests. The system will be further enhanced when regular blood test results will be texted to you. The feedback from the new service has been very positive.

If you do not wish your mobile phone number to be used for this purpose please contact the surgery and we can update our records.

Avoid The Queue -When we implemented the new system one of the reasons was to give patients another choice of how to book their appointments.  This went live on the 12th April 2010.  If you sign up to the new service you will be able to book any appointment which is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week at your convenience.  Integrated into this is online prescription ordering service.  Please click on the above tab for AVOID THE QUEUE to download your registration form.

From 1st May 2009 all calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

Doctors' Appointments

Early morning and afternoon pre-bookable appointments are available every day with the GPs. When you call for an appointment you will be asked to give a brief outline why an appointment is needed. If appropriate and with your agreement a GP or a Nurse Practitioner may be able to call you back and deal with your condition/query over the telephone, this can include the generation of a prescription which then would be ready at 6.00pm that day.

Nurses' and Healthcare Assistants' Appointments

These are available all day (8am to 5.30pm)
